It would tie the book into a real life activity and it would be a fun way to get students involved in the classroom and have them form good habits. A fun activity related to the book could be to mess up the classroom while students are out at recess, and then when they come back ask them to help clean it up just like the dinosaurs did in the book we read. I like that the book showed the bad cleaning habits as something you should not do, and then turned around and gave actual ideas for good ways to quickly clean up (throwing away small pieces of trash and putting dirty clothes into a hamper). It is important to teach students that cleaning their room is not only necessary, but it is not as big a deal as they usually make it out to be. I definitely used some of the bad tactics shown in the book, like shoving everything under my bed or into my closet. One of kids most disliked activites: cleaning their rooms! I know when I was a kid, cleaning my room was something I absolutely dreaded.
